Saturdays at Tadpole’s Offers “Lagniappe” for Riverfront Devotees
(That’s Creole for “A Little Extra!”)

Enjoy New Orleans Shrimp Boil and Cold Beer During Riverfront Nights

If you’re heading down to Riverfront Nights this weekend and you’re Cajun cheflooking for "lagniappe," or something “a little extra” as they say in New Orleans while you’re there, you're in fro a treat. Head over to Tadpole’s, Chattanooga’s floating oasis located on the water, docked next to the stage at Ross’s Landing. On Saturday, August 15th and each Saturday during the Riverfront Nights series, Tadpole’s will offer a New Orleans-style feast featuring a shrimp boil, red beans and rice, and fresh gumbo along with cold beer from 4-11 p.m.

Tadpole’s, owned by the Delta Queen, alternates between the North and South Shores depending on the activity on the Riverfront. The quaint pontoon boat has blue and white striped awnings and has spent much of the summer docked at Coolidge Park Landing next to the Delta Queen.

According to Sydney Slome, proprietor of the Delta Queen Hotel and overseer of food and beverage for Tadpole’s, “Jimmy Buffet would love this place, but so would Huckleberry Finn! It’s kind of a best-kept secret because most people don’t wander all the way down to the river. We hope to encourage Chattanoogans and visitors alike to come discover us!”
